ORIGINAL POST: May 24th, 2014

The wedding of Rachel & Chris. Not even sure where to begin since this one is so special to Becca and I. I was 13 and 16 when my older sisters were married. While I remember being really happy for them and feeling pretty sharp all dressed up, looking back I had NO IDEA what it really meant to commit my life to one woman and one woman only…forever. To not only give her my last name, but to give her my whole heart…and to likewise protect hers with everything that is in me. To put her needs above my own always. No concept of what it meant to relentlessly love and honor her and to do my best to model through my words and actions Chris’t love. Now at the age of 29, having loved Becca as my wife and treasure for 7 years, being blessed and entrusted with 4 children and constantly thanking God for the legacy that he is building through our family and the undeserved grace that He so freely gives…marriage is a BIG DEAL to me. All this to say… having the honor of photographing my sister-in-law’s wedding was awesome. Becca and Rachel grew up fatherless. They were not loved, protected, and cherished like all girls should be by their Dad. They never heard that they were the most beautiful girls in the world and that there was nothing they could do to make their dad love them any more, and nothing they could do to make their dad love them any less. A reality that is all too common and makes my father heart broken and angry all at the same time. However, these 2 girls had a perfect heavenly father the whole time who was lovingly pursuing and protecting them. He had so much more love and joy in store for them and I am thankful that God saw it fit that I play a role in this story of love and redemption.  On March 29th, Chris became a part of this story as well. He is a hardworking man who is crazy about Rachel, but more importantly, he loves Jesus deeply. We are thrilled for them and can’t wait to have our families share lots of memories in the years to come.  Since Becca was the matron of honor, I had our good friend Cameron Cowles shoot with me for the day which is always a great time. Congratulations again Rachel & Chris. We love you very much!
