Amy & Sean - Columbia Gorge Engagement

Happy New Year Everyone! We are so excited for what 2016 has in store. With weddings on the books already in Portland and Seattle (and everywhere in between) for 2016, we are looking forward to an awesome Spring and Summer. Full of working hard and lots of visits with friends and family along the way! We wanted to start the year off with one of our most memorable shoots of 2015. Amy & Sean are awesome. They are getting married in Seattle this Spring and we are thrilled to be able to capture it. For their engagement session, they wanted beautiful and epic. After going back and forth bouncing some ideas around, we settled on the Columbia River Gorge. Our original plan was to meet at a popular hike right outside of Portland with gorgeous views. Being a beautiful Saturday in the fall, when we arrived it was super crowded and no longer a good option. Amy & Sean also let us know they had gotten a flat tire on the way down to Oregon and needed to get a hold of AAA at some point. (Off to a great start as you can see!) Racing against the sunset, I asked them if they would be alright jumping in our car so we could wander further down I-84 pull over when we found somewhere beautiful and not crowded (we had only met them once for coffee months earlier). Kevin and I had a hunch as to where this particular location was, but hadn’t had time to scout it in advance. In that moment, we realized it was as good a time as any to see if we could find it! The rest is history as they say. We had a lot of fun getting to know each other and being lookout for wardrobe changes and bathroom breaks in the wilderness. A mini day adventure we won’t soon forget with incredible results. Sometimes you take a big risk and it doesn’t pan out. Other times, you take a big risk, and the situation turns out better than you could have possibly imagined. Thankful that this was the latter. On this day Amy & Sean started the day as our clients, and ended the day as our friends. Looking forward to celebrating the wedding of our friends Amy & Sean in May!
