We have been waiting to share this session for such a long time. Between shooting weddings in Seattle and Portland and moving our whole family down to Portland at the very end of summer, the blog took a back burner. We have fallen in love with these clients and their pictures. As with so many others that we have waited to share, we knew that it would be better to share them in due time than rushing. It is with great joy that we introduce you to Leah & Caleb. The first Canadian friends we’ve ever had!

Last June Leah wrote us. She let us know that her and Caleb were going on an awesome road trip vacation from their home in Edmonton Canada all the way to sunny San Diego California during the whole month of July! Leah & Caleb were celebrating 3 years of marriage, and knew they wanted photos done by the ocean while traveling through the Pacific Northwest. But Leah let us know that she had a surprise in store for Caleb: at the beginning of the photo session she wanted to whip out the exact vows that they promised each other 3 years before so they could read them to each other again. She wanted an impromptu vow renewal and she wanted us to capture the whole thing. After the fact she put it this way: Caleb is usually the one with GRAND surprises but this was my turn. He is worth it!  He has been through so much with me the last 3 years of our marriage and I wanted to treat him and to let him know how much he means to me. Obviously we were smitten with them before we were even in the same country.

We fell in love with these two right away and knew that we would be friends for years to come. When thinking about how we would share their story and how the day went on the blog, I figured I would leave it to Leah to tell herself. This day was special. One we will never forget.

From Leah:

We got ready in our vehicle after camping for 3 days so getting ready was a bit tricky. Not to mention my curling iron failed miserably! Caleb brought the wrong one. He didn’t quite understand why I was so upset about it until he realized exactly what was going on. I wanted everything to be PERFECT!  (Ps. Caleb would like to add and ask why I would keep a broken curling iron? Because you never know when you might use one. But it is now in the trash..)

In total, the trip was a month. We went all the way down to San Diego and back home to Edmonton. It was a long trip but SO MUCH FUN! But we both agree tha shoot was one of our favorite parts of the trip. It was so nice to recommit ourselves after 3 years of such an awesome marriage.

Thank you again to both of you. You truly made it a very memorable and awesome experience. We felt so blessed by your talent and your love for what you do. Not to mention your love for Jesus. It is so awesome meeting sisters and brothers in Christ. FAMILY!!

Love you guys!!

Leah
